The Core season has had its ups and downs but mostly ups. In the spirit of keeping the good times going The Core stepped on the court against the Fleetwood Tigers with the gas pedal on the floor. A full court press was the name of the game causing countless turnovers and half court scoring. The Core celebrated their win with a 57-22 blow out of the Fleetwood Tigers.
On July 17th The Core hit the court ready to meet one of the most Dynamic Teams of The Reading Black Top Tournament. It was decided that we would play them with a 3-2 zone defense the begin to press. The press was not effective against a quick team so we stuck with the 3-2 defense. The problem in this game for the Core was countless missed shots and the lack of rebounds. Many players did bring a strong game to Leights Out but it was not enough. It sure was a lesson learned for not bringing enough energy to the court and not executing the game plan. This lead to 50-21 loss but out of loss we gain knowledge and with the knowledge we do better.
